Longtime owners of Pasqually’s, a popular Spruce Hill pizza and beer shop, are saying good-bye after more than 23 years. Kenny and his wife Nina have shared their news of leaving the restaurant in a long and emotional Facebook post.

“Pasqually’s has been more than just a restaurant to us,” reads the post. “It’s been our second home, and in many ways, it’s been where life happened. We came in every day to cook and serve, but what we really found was a community that embraced us, supported us, and grew alongside us here in the West Philly neighborhood.”

“We’ve watched so many of you grow up over the years,” the post continues. “Kids who once had to be carried in are now off at college or coming back to visit. Some of you came in to celebrate, some came in during tough times, and somehow this little shop became a place where all of those moments could exist together… You let us be a small part of your lives, and that’s something we will always carry with us.”

Kenny and Nina thanked the community members for helping them through difficult moments as they worked hard to improve the restaurant and expand the shop offerings over the years. They managed to transform it into a hot spot for craft beer and also added a wine section to their shop later. In the meantime, they raised their own family and put their kids, who often worked there, through school.

Kenny and Nina also shared the news that Pasqually’s now has a new “young and motivated” owner, Manny, and that they spent a few weeks working side by side with him to “help him get his footing.”

“We hope you’ll welcome him the same way you welcomed us, with patience, kindness, and support.”

“Thank you for 23 unforgettable years…for trusting us, for supporting us, and for making Pasqually’s what it is.”
