Amazon has introduced a new delivery station in Allegheny County, combining robotics and same-day delivery services.On Friday, Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 toured Amazon’s SPA5 facility on Solar Drive in Findlay Township. (Watch the video above)”A parent can order diapers in the morning and get them by the afternoon, or someone can order a last-minute birthday gift and have it arrive later that same day. Residents across Allegheny, Washington, Westmoreland and Butler counties will now have same-day access to millions of items,” said Maura Kennedy, Amazon’s economic development manager for Pennsylvania.Amazon said the facility created almost 300 jobs. It utilizes both robotics technology and human workers, and is one of 47 Amazon fulfillment and delivery sites across Pennsylvania.”What excites me the most is this combination of safety and innovation, and how it enables us to do things for our customers.
