A teenage boy and a man were taken to a hospital Friday morning after they were shot during a robbery in East Germantown, according to the Philadelphia Police Department.

Around 10:37 a.m., officers responded to East Price Street after receiving reports of a shooting. Police said when they arrived, they found a 16-year-old who had been shot. Officers also found a man on Matthew Street who was suffering from gunshot wounds.

Neighbors told NBC10 they heard more than 10 gunshots.

“I just got out of my car. I was on my way into the house and two guys started shooting at each other,” a witness said. “I was scared. I was in the corner scooting down, hoping I didn’t catch the bullet.”

Police said the teenage boy and the man were both taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center in stable condition.

NBC10 confirmed with investigators that the shooting was connected to a robbery. Police did not reveal additional details, however. No arrests have been made.

“It’s very sad to hear that kind of stuff and especially, it’s not surprising in Philadelphia really, even teens even younger than that 14 we’ve heard stuff like that happening,” a woman who lives in the neighborhood said.

The investigation is ongoing.
