HARRISBURG, DAUPHIN CO. (WOLF) — As of Friday, March 27, AAA reports the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in Pennsylvania is now around $3.95 per gallon, up from about $3.88 earlier in the week. The increase continues a weeks-long streak of rising prices driven by global energy concerns.
This marks the 29th consecutive day Pennsylvanians have seen the price of gasoline go up.
The national average has also climbed, reaching approximately $3.98 per gallon.
Across the country, California continues to see the highest prices, averaging well above $5 per gallon, while states in the Midwest remain among the lowest.
Fuel costs beyond gasoline are also trending upward. Diesel prices remain elevated due to global shipping demands, while heating oil and natural gas costs have increased alongside broader energy market volatility. The price of diesel is approaching $6 per gallon.

Experts say the rising cost of fuel could soon impact more than just drivers. Higher transportation costs may lead to increased prices for everyday goods, including groceries, clothing, and household items. Travel costs are also expected to rise, with airlines potentially passing along higher fuel expenses to passengers.
In Pennsylvania, gas prices have steadily increased since late February, when averages were just above $3.10 per gallon. Prices have climbed nearly 80 cents over the past month.
Drivers in northeastern Pennsylvania are still paying some of the highest prices in the state, with many stations now approaching or exceeding the $4 mark.
Officials say prices could continue to fluctuate in the coming weeks as global markets remain uncertain.
