Anthony J. “Tony” Loureiro, Jr, 87, of Taylor, passed away on Friday morning at Allied Services Hospice Care in Scranton. Surviving is his wife, the former Joyce Carol Hines. The couple were married for 54 years.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Anthony, Sr. and Mary Ciuccoli Loureiro. He attended Scranton Technical High School and was a proud Army Veteran. Prior to retirement he worked for Crystal Soda Water Company for over 50 years.
He was an assistant Scoutmaster with Boy Scout Throop 85 in Taylor. He was a loving and supportive husband, father and grandfather. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Also surviving is his son Mark and daughter LeAnne Shiffer and husband Michael. Granddaughters, Mia and Emily Shiffer. A brother Jack Loureiro and sister, Barbara Robinson. Numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Loureiro and a brother-in-law, Ken Robinson.
A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 9:30am at St. Mary’s Church, 1090 Carmalt St. Dickson City with Military Honors to follow.
Interment is private at the convenience of the family.
