Over 1,000 students showcased their creative problem-solving skills, with top teams advancing to the World Final at Iowa State University in May.

SWIFTWATER, Pa. — Over 1,000 students from across the region put their creativity to the test at this year’s Pennsylvania Odyssey of the Mind in Monroe County. 

The Pocono Mountain School District hosted the 2026 Odyssey of the Mind State Finals today at the East Campus. One hundred and fifty-nine teams earned their spot at the finals after excelling at regional tournaments held throughout the state over the past month.

“It’s really inspiring at a time when the world really needs creative problem solvers, and we need good answers to all of the problems in the world, and that’s what these students are showing. They’re showcasing how they can work together for a common good. They’re showcasing how they can work together to think outside the box, think beyond the box here in Odyssey of the Mind,” said Ryan Balton from PA Odyssey of Mind.

Teams placing first and second will advance to the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals at Iowa State University in May.
