A man was fatally shot on Pittsburgh’s South Side early Sunday morning, police said.
Police said the man was found on South 18th Street at Carson Street with multiple gunshot wounds after the South Side Entertainment Patrol officers responded to two separate ShotSpotter alerts totaling eight rounds at that site.
They rendered aid and applied chest seals until Pittsburgh Bureau of EMS arrived to transport him in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The victim was not identified.
The department’s violent crime division is investigating the homicide. Police did not say whether any arrests were made as of Sunday morning.
