Mr. and Mrs. Michael Martarano (Crystal Satriano)
Montdale Country Club was the setting Aug. 30, 2025, for the wedding of Kelly Jean Cannon and Michael Martarano, both of Throop. The bride is the daughter of Carl Cannon, Tunkhannock, and Julie Giumento, Jefferson Twp. The bridegroom is the son of Michael and Rose Martarano, Throop.
Jamie Shevchik, ordained minister, officiated at the 4:30 p.m. ceremony.
Chelsea Cannon, Salem, Mass., sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Stephanie Martarano, Throop, sister-in-law of the bride; and Tara Montini, Pittston.
Salvatore Martarano, Throop, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Ushers were Dom Verrastro, Peckville, cousin of the bridegroom; and Jordan Wahl, Scott Twp.
A reception was held at Montdale Country Club.
Kelly Cannon was born and raised in Scranton. She graduated from Holy Cross High School. She is the daughter of Carl (father) and Shari (stepmother) Cannon, of Tunkhannock, and Julie (mother) and Mark (stepfather) Giumento, of Jefferson Twp. She is the granddaughter of Joseph and Anne Adrian, of Throop. Her sister is Chelsea Cannon (Salem, Mass.).
Michael Martarano was born in Scranton and raised in Throop. He graduated from Mid Valley High School. Michael is the son of Michael Martarano and Rose Martarano, Throop. Michael’s brother is Salvatore Martarano (Throop).
Though they first connected online, fate had a surprise in store — their families turned out to be neighbors. The couple was engaged on Oct. 26, 2024.
The couple resides in Throop.
