An investigation was underway — and a bus was taken out of service — early Tuesday, after officials said SEPTA’s Route 65 was discovered to have been struck by gunfire.
Overnight Tuesday, NBC10’s cameras spotted police inspecting the bus near the intersection of Magdalena Street and East Walnut Lane in Philly’s Roxborough section.
But, officials did not immediately provide details about the incident.
In an update at about 6:15 a.m., SEPTA officials said police were investigating after a gunshot possibly hit the Route 65 bus shortly aftermidnight.
Though, officials did not immediately say where the shooting may have occurred.
SEPTA did say, however, that there were no passengers on the bus when the shooting happened and the operator was unharmed.
An investigation, officials said, is ongoing.
