EASTON, Pa. – March 31st is National Crayon Day and to celebrate, Crayola has brought back its One Million Crayon Giveaway.
“The sense of joy and enlightenment,” said Meg Steich of Emmaus.
The big, bright and bold crayons can make for a tough favorite choice.
“He’s pointing to the green crayon,” said Steich, referring to her son. “He really likes the color green.”
“I like blue and purple,” said 10-year-old Adelaide. “And I like red,” added her friend, 8-year-old Ava.
“Probably shamrock,” said 12-year-old Carson. “Because I’m a little bit Irish. I just like the color of it.”
“They have so many colors and so many more products,” said Diego Eras of Easton.
For many, the nostalgia kicks in during a visit to Crayola Experience in Easton.
“Whether you’re a grandparent, a parent, a teenager, a kid. I remember my first box in the ’90’s,” said Abby Dentner, Marketing and Sales Manager at Crayola Experience in Easton.
It’s a walk down memory lane for Eras.
“When I personally grew up, you know, I knew of crayons and, but I guess didn’t have access to all of them very easily,” said Eras.
Now, he’s bringing his children to celebrate Crayola’s One Million Crayon Giveaway.
“We are happy that we live in the city and that Crayola is here, and we enjoy it very much,” said Eras. “Just seeing my kids enjoying it, my three-year-old and my one-and-a-half-year-old, it’s, you know, it’s everything that I can ask for.”
All along the “Pick your Pack” wall, sit nearly half a million crayons in 74 colors up for grabs.
Before diving into the fun, guests must register and download a voucher to redeem their free 32-count crayon box. Then, they can pick their favorite colors to take home with them.
Visitors can also meet “Dandelion” the crayon and join in on fun activities.
Guests can register to make their own boxes through May 31st.
