HEIDELBERG TWP., Pa. – A restaurant in western Berks County has cooked up a way to help a family of seven after fire destroyed their home.
The Heidelberg Family Restaurant will hold a fundraiser next Tuesday.
50% of the day’s proceeds will help the family affected by the fire in the 300 block of Mountain Boulevard in Wernersville that broke out Friday.
The restaurant’s owner says he reached out to offer the family a meal but wanted to do more.
“I feel very sad for them because they lost everything. It’s not easy living in a house for a while, and in one second, losing everything,” said owner Mohamed Marzouki.
The fundraiser will be held next Tuesday, April 7, at Heidelberg Family Restaurant.
