BETHLEHEM – On March 16 in Bethlehem, Connecticut Attorney General William Tong presented the fourth talk in a seven-part speaker series called “How Does America’s Democracy Work?” AG Tong spoke to an enthusiastic crowd of 75 people about the Court System, covering a wide range of topics based on questions from the audience. The educational and non-partisan series will continue with three more events, April through June, leading up to a Fourth of July celebration in town.
The next talk occurs on Monday, April 20, with “A Quarter Millenium of Immigration: America at 250,” featuring Quinnipiac University Professor John Thomas. On May 18, Secretary of State Stephanie Thomas will discuss Voting Rights and the Voting Process. On June 15, Bethlehem First Selectman Ray Butkus will speak on Citizen Responsibility.
The series is sponsored by the Christmas Town America 250 Planning Committee and hosted by the Bethlehem Public Library. All events are free and open to the public and take place from 7 — 8:30 p.m. in the Leever Room of the Bethlehem Library, 32 Main Street South.
