Looking for some fun and unique things to do in Philly this weekend? We’ve got you covered.
Viva Abejas at Aqimero
Now through April 22, chef and restaurateur Richard Sandoval will bring back Viva Abejas, which translates to “Long Live the Bees.” This annual initiative aims to foster a connection between food, the environment, and sustainability, while also raising awareness about the importance of pollinators. This is achieved through a variety of dishes and drinks that showcase seasonal flavors and highlight the role of bees in our food system.
So what’s on the menu? Food-wise, this year’s Viva Abejas will feature Viva Tiradito Tuna Ceviche, Beef Tenderloin, and an Abejas Pavlova, along with cocktails like the Miel de Fuego, Honeycomb Carajillo, Margarita Melipona and the Viva Abeja Paloma. And while at Aqimero, locals can indulge in the venue’s many other brunch, lunch, dinner and dessert options from the kitchen and bar. Stand-outs include chipotle hummus, Wagyu steak tartare, yellow corn empanadas, short rib al carbon, Mexican chocolate French toast, churros with dulce de leche and much more.

Ministry of Awe
Meg Saliman’s Ministry of Awe (MoA) officially opened its doors in Philly earlier this month. The showcase is the result of a collaboration with Saligman and over 100 artists, makers, spirits, and shadows. What locals will find in the once-abandoned 19th-century bank is a six-story work of art that will “break into your brain and seize your senses.”
The experience is officially described as one that unravels into art, mystery, imagination, and playful exploration. Throughout the multi-level experience, visitors can expect performance artists, towering installations, interactive sculptures, live art, and immersive soundscapes. Time slots are available every Tuesday through Sunday, with daytime and evening sessions available to book.

Guests are welcomed with champagne and a gift on arrival, while DJ Nico Oso will spin crowd favorites from Whitney Houston to Beyoncé.
Designed for birthdays, bachelorettes, or a fun girls’ day out, ticket options range from general admission seating to VIP table packages and Super VIP front-row experiences with priority entry.

Vinyasa Flow at Stratus Rooftop Lounge
Stratus is bringing back its popular wellness series with the relaunch of Rooftop Vinyasa Flow. Kicking off Saturday, April 4, the program will return as a weekly offering, inviting guests to trade the traditional studio setting for an elevated outdoor experience.
Held each Saturday at 9 a.m., the 60-minute, all-levels class will be led by Kelly Friedberg, and each session will blend elements of Hatha yoga with the fluid, breath-focused movement of Vinyasa yoga. The result is a balanced, full-body practice designed to build strength, improve flexibility, and deepen the connection between breath and movement.
Classes are complimentary for hotel guests and $25 for non-guests, with advance registration required via Eventbrite.

Pennsbury Manor’s Mini Cow Birthday Celebration
Locals can head to William Penn’s reconstructed riverside estate, Pennsbury Manor, on Saturday, April 4, to join in on a barnyard birthday party for Daphne, the site’s miniature Hereford heifer, who turns one this year. Born on a Pennsylvania farm and formally named Lively Daffodil, Daphne joined Pennsbury’s educational animal collection last year, where she helps visitors learn about the livestock that would have been part of 17th-century farm life, a release notes.
The celebration includes hands-on activities like making birthday cards, lawn games, and a “Happy Birthday” sing-along at 3:30 p.m., plus free cupcakes for the first 100 visitors. Admission is included with regular entry ($9 adults, $7 seniors, $5 children), and members will receive a special perk—free daffodil bulbs for the first 50 families, a nod to Daphne’s full name. Anyone interested can RSVP online to join the festivities.
