LOWER SAUCON TWP., Pa. – Authorities have released the name of the man shot and killed during a standoff with police in Lower Saucon Township.
37-year-old Andrew Krasnansky died as a result of gunshot wounds sustained during a police incident on March 25.
It happened in the 2400 block of Applebutter Road when officers were called to the location on a welfare check for a man, later identified as Krasnansky, reportedly experiencing a mental health crisis
According to emergency call logs, the dispatcher said that the “male is brandishing a firearm.”
Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Nathan Branosky told 69 News Krasnansky fired shots from inside the home, prompting authorities to call in the Pennsylvania State Police Special Emergency Response Team (SERT).
Krasnansky was killed but authorities say no other individuals were hurt.
The incident and Krasnansky’s manner of death remain under investigation.
