BETHLEHEM, Pa. – As the Easter holiday weekend approaches, Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) are advising the public to slow down, pay attention and exercise caution on the roads.

PSP Troop M – Bethlehem announced that the official Easter holiday enforcement period begins at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, April 3, and concludes at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, April 5.

PSP officials say the action is part of a safety initiative known as P.A.D.E.E.P (Pennsylvania Aggressive Driving Enforcement Education Program) and targets aggressive drivers, speeders, seat belt violations and child seat belt infractions.

Troopers will be concentrating their efforts on drivers using mobile devices while operating a vehicle as well as careless or distracted drivers.

Law enforcement officials will also focus on apprehending those driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

During Easter holiday enforcement in 2025, Troopers throughout Pennsylvania investigated 532 motor vehicle crashes and made 282 driving under the influence arrests.
