Two people were seriously injured after a small plane made an emergency landing shortly after taking off from Northeast Philadelphia Airport Wednesday afternoon.Â
The crash took place at around 3:45 p.m. at Fluehr Park, near Grant and Torresdale avenues in the East Torresdale neighborhood, according to the Philadelphia Fire Department.Â
Two people were onboard, and firefighters had to extricate one of them, the department said. Both were taken to a local hospital in “serious condition,” PFD added. Officials indicated the plane was connected to Legacy Flight School.
