A local barbecue concept found a new home as its lease was nearing its end in the Lehigh Valley.
You Got Pork’D BBQ will operate at the Dewey Banquet Hall at 502 Durham St. in Hellertown, owner Brian Jones said. It held its last day at Leaf Cigar Bar in Forks Township on Sunday.
“What’s nice about being in Hellertown [is] it’s a central location in the Lehigh Valley,” Jones said. “So Easton, Bethlehem, Allentown — it’s right off of [Route] 78, it’s not too far off of 78. I tried to find a space in Easton, which is where I’ve lived all my life. Unfortunately it just didn’t happen, but Hellertown is a great, great central location, so now even more people can reach us.”
He also thanked the community for their words of encouragement and suggestions for a new location.
“There were so many people that said, ‘I know you’re going to find a place, it’s going to be great and we’re going to come see you there,’ ” Jones said.
Jones said his timeline is to start using the banquet hall to support their catering and food truck operations in early April, begin hosting events in May and then begin sit-down dining service in early June.
The banquet hall would be open to public dining, but memberships will give people access to alcoholic beverages as well as send proceeds to the Dewey Fire Co., which Jones said stopped using the space in early 2025.
“It’s a beautiful space that they still want to see get utilized, so essentially we’re partnering up where … we can bring it back to life essentially,” he said.
Jones said they haven’t finalized the hours yet but that You Got Pork’D BBQ will most likely operate Thursday through Saturday.
