WHEELING, W.Va. — As Easter approaches, the Bethlehem Apostolic Temple is continuing a long-standing tradition of helping families in need through its annual Stuff the Bus Easter food basket fundraiser.

Organizers collected donations at the Elm Grove Riesbeck’s on Thursday as part of the effort to provide food to members of the Ohio Valley community during the Easter season.

In the past, the event served more than 1,000 individuals and at least 300 families. Organizers said they plan to meet those numbers again this year.

“It is a first-come first-serve basis,” Bishop Darrell Cummings said. “We will be giving out hams chickens turkey’s things of that nature as well as canned good items and then we will also be giving out fresh fruits and vegetables and will also be giving out Easter clothes and other clothes as well. Our goal is to send people home with a smile and to feel the love of God and the love of their community.”

The food collected at the drive will be distributed on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the North Wheeling Community Dream Center. For more information, call (304) 233-8899.
