Scranton Police partner with Lackawanna College

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A new partnership in Scranton was announced, aimed at training the next generation of police.

The Scranton Police Department and Lackawanna College are teaming up, giving cadets access to high-tech training that including virtual reality and simulation systems.

The deal also offers scholarships for officers and their families.

Officials say the goal is to make better-prepared officers and safer streets here at home.
