A woman is charged in connection with a shooting in Pittsburgh’s Larimer neighborhood. PREVIOUS VIDEO IN PLAYFINDER ABOVEAn arrest warrant was issued for Latasha Thorne, 36. She is facing more than a dozen charges, including attempted homicide and aggravated assault in connection with the shooting that happened on March 30. According to the criminal complaint, officers responded to Carver Street for a verbal dispute among neighbors just before 7 p.m. Police said once they were on scene, they learned two groups of kids were fighting with one another. Even though the fight was over by the time officers arrived, the parents of the kids were still arguing. Officers later arrived on scene and were able to separate the individuals, the complaint said. About an hour later, officers were dispatched to Mayflower Street for a person shot while holding their child. The person had multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to the hospital in critical condition with a wound to the stomach and hip. According to court documents, the victim and their family were in the backyard when they noticed someone walking down the alley near the garage next door. The person was identified as Thorne. Thorne, the complaint continues, said, “This is for calling the cops to my block,” then got out a gun and started shooting at the victim and their family, which consisted of five kids.One of the people shot at, but not hurt, fired back at Thorne to stop her from shooting. That person told police Thorne was not part of the argument from earlier in the day and never saw her outside during the altercation. Detectives later obtained video footage of the incident and saw Thorne fire multiple rounds. She then ran away, got into a car, and left the scene. The driver of that car spoke with detectives on April 3. They told police Thorne contacted them, asking for a ride the day of the shooting. She had done this numerous times in the past. The witness picked her up and drove her to Shadyside near Aldi. During the course of the investigation, detectives learned Thorne cannot possess a firearm.All body-worn camera and surveillance video is available for the court.
