CHESTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — A mass shooting has been reported to have taken place at Lincoln University on Saturday evening, according to officials.

The Chester County District Attorney confirmed there are multiple victims involved.

An investigation is underway and people are being asked to avoid the campus and surrounding area.

Chester County Commissioner Eric Roe posted on Facebook announcing the shooting, asking the public to pray for the staff and students there.

This weekend marked homecoming weekend for the Historically Black College and University (HBCU).

The shooting reportedly happened near the school’s football field.

It was reported around 9 p.m., which is when the school’s tailgate and yardfest event was happening.

The school is located about 50 miles from Philadelphia, on the Baltimore Pike in western Chester County.

CBS News Philadelphia spoke to a witness who said they saw CPR being administered to a victim.
