BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — Southbound Route 1 is closed on Tuesday morning due to a crash, authorities reported.
The Bensalem Township Fire Rescue Department said the highway is closed between Rockhill Drive and Street Road from the crash, which happened around 5:25 a.m. on Tuesday.
Authorities said drivers should avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
Authorities said the crash will cause delays and heavy congestion in surrounding areas.
NBC 10 Philadelphia has reported that at least three vehicles were involved in the crash along Route 1’s southbound lanes — between the exits for the Neshaminy Mall and the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Trevose.
The incident had closed all southbound lanes as drivers were being diverted away from the crash.
Police did not immediately say what caused this crash or said if anyone was hurt in this incident, NBC 10 Philadelphia reported.
