READING, Pa. – The ribbon has been cut on a new bilingual credit union in downtown Reading.
Finanta Credit Union opened its first branch in the city today, located at the former DeCarlo’s Bar in the 200 block of Penn Street.
A number of state lawmakers from Berks County and Philadelphia were on hand, along with city leaders.
Finanta has been around for more than 30 years and helps people and families in low-income areas by offering financial services and education.
“We have a pathway in which we can repair your credit, in which we can help you be that success in the American story, and ultimately not only own your house but also provide for your family,” said Jonathan Encarnacion with Finanta Credit Union.
The credit union also has branches in the Lancaster and Philadelphia areas.
