Authorities in Ohio accuse an Erie-area doctor of traveling to the Youngstown area to reportedly have a sexual encounter with a minor.
Robert R. Zewe Jr., 50, was taken into custody Oct. 10 in the Youngstown area by undercover agents with the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force after being accused of agreeing to pay for sex with a “fictitious underage girl and her mother,” Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost announced Oct. 13 on his website.
Authorities charged Zewe, whose address is listed in court records as Ridgedale Drive in Millcreek Township, with a third-degree felony count of compelling prostitution, a fifth-degree felony count of possessing criminal tools, and a first-degree misdemeanor count of engaging in prostitution, according to Yost and Columbiana County, Ohio, court records.
Additional details on Zewe’s arrest and the investigation into the allegations against him were not available from the task force Oct. 14.
Zewe was released from custody after posting bond Oct. 11, according to court records. He was arraigned Oct. 14 and is scheduled to return to court in Columbiana County for his preliminary hearing on Nov. 3.
