Former Erie County District Attorney John Flynn tells Spectrum News 1 that he is interested in the town of Tonawanda town supervisor job.
Longtime Supervisor Joe Emminger announced on Wednesday he would be stepping down in May.
Flynn says he has told the town’s Democratic Party chair that he would like to be considered being appointed supervisor when Emminger does indeed step down.
He would then have to win a special election in November to serve out the remaining year in Emminger’s term.
Flynn stepped down in 2024 after being appointed DA in 2017, limiting himself to two terms.
“I think that eight years is enough, quite frankly, for any politician,” Flynn said at the time.
