Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant plans to reopen select locations in Pennsylvania and Delaware, but its restaurant at the Lehigh Valley Mall so far isn’t among them.

The chain, founded in 1996, opened in 2024 at the Whitehall Township mall. In September it announced the closure for all its locations, including those in New Jersey, South Carolina and Georgia.

The company filed for bankruptcy in October and had more than $20 million in debt, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported, and reincorporated as Rightlane LLC.

In a news release, the company announced the “new chapter” led by a team that includes one of the original founders, Mark Edelson.

“Iron Hill was built on a simple promise: scratch-made food, craft beer, and elevated service in a casual, welcoming atmosphere,” Edelson said in the release. “The team and I are honored to bring that promise back to many of the communities that made Iron Hill home.”

Furiga told The Morning Call that the locations the chain plans to reopen are in Philadelphia, scheduled to open later this month; and in Derry Township, Dauphin County; Lancaster; Abington Township, Montgomery County; and Wilmington, Delaware.

However, “the Lehigh Valley Mall location was not among those purchased by Iron Hill,” Furiga said.

In a written statement, Shannon Palzer, director of marketing and business development for Lehigh Valley Mall, said that “the retail and dining landscape is always evolving, and we view every transition as an opportunity to enhance the experience for our guests. While we don’t have updates to share about the Iron Hill Brewery space at this time, we’re thrilled to welcome exciting new dining options to Lehigh Valley Mall, including Texas de Brazil and Nori Japan. Our goal remains to give our neighbors a reason to come out and spend the day together, with a mix of top-tier retail and experiential dining.”

According to Palzer, openings later this year will include OFFLINE by Aerie, Nori Japan, L’amour Visage, Lehigh Mart, Lina’s Ice Cream & Cookie Shop and POP MART. Texas de Brazil is expected to open the winter of 2027.

Some of the mall’s openings in the last few months include Dunkin’, Rêver and Danou Hair.
