John A. “Jack” Saravitz, 79, of Scranton, passed away on Tuesday at home.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late John and Rose Mangione Saravitz and was a graduate of West Scranton High School. He was a member of Our Lady of Snows Church and its choir member and an Army veteran.
Jack was a man who beat to his own drum with a big heart that was full of compassion. He was kind, thoughtful and cared about those who were less fortunate. Jack was a talented singer and drummer earning the nickname “the snare” by other talented musicians. He will be missed by all who loved him and by all whose lives he touched.
Surviving is his sister, Sylvia Tini, Scranton. Nephews, Ronald Tini and companion Lynne, Vandling, Richard Tini and wife Theresa and David Tini, all of Scranton. Great-nephew, Ronald Tini and companion Kelly, Scranton. Great-Great nephew, Emersyn. Many cousins.
He was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Ronald L. Tini.
A Blessing service will be held on Wednesday at 11am at Savino Traditional Funerals and Cremation Care, 157 S. Main Ave, Scranton, Carl J. Savino, Jr., supervisor.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 10:00am until the time of service at the funeral home.
Interment, Cathedral Cemetery in Scranton.
