MAIDENCREEK TWP., Pa. – One of Berks County’s largest employers is expanding with a new warehouse.
East Penn Manufacturing and The Wolfson Group cut the ribbon on a 930,000 square-foot center.
It’s on Route 222, near the Schaeffer Road roundabout in Maidencreek Township.
It has 170 loading docks.
Officials say it could hold 19.4 football fields, not counting the end zones.
They say it could also fit a few ballparks.
“We’d be able to fit nine Citizens Bank ball fields, the fair lines, inside this building. We’ve never been a part of a building this size. It’s astounding now that this was able to be done in ten-and-a-half months,” says Steve Wolfson of The Wolfson Group.
East Penn is based in Richmond Township.
It makes batteries for cars and a number of other industries.
