Collingdale is the latest Delaware County municipality to consider enacting an earned income tax.
At the April 6 meeting, council announced it will hold an EIT town hall meeting at 7 p.m. Monday April 13 at the Collingdale Community Center main gym.
Officials said to bring your pay stub to compare your work location taxes with borough taxes.
Council is also going to raise some fees. Fees for parking on street will increase when it is street sweeper day and they will be adding a dumpster fee to those who have dumpsters in their yards or on the street.
Council also took time to honor seven volunteers — Rev. Perry Messick, Bill Jackson, Stephen Zane, Jean Peterson, Styner Carter, Erin McGlinchey and Colin McCann — who will benefit from a 2023 resolution giving active fire and fire company administrative members a real estate tax rebate of up to $1,000, with the main requirement being owning your own home in the borough.
At the April meeting it was noted that council members David Lee Robinson and Keisha Williams were not in attendance. They have not been to a meeting since January.
