The Monsters hung within a goal deep into the third at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton but fell, 4-1, on April 11.

James Malatesta pulled the visitors within 2-1 at 13:02 of the third, assisted by Hudson Fasching and and Hunter McKown.

But the Penguins got a goal from Aidan McDonough 58 seconds later and an empty-netter for the final margin.

The Monsters head to Lehigh Valley for a 3:05 p.m. puck drop April 12.
