The annual Downtown Fall Festival was back for its 7th year.
Residents were invited to Perry Square to join in on the fall festivities, such as live music, vendors, and trunk or treat.
The Erie Downtown Partnership is a non-profit organization dedicated to the revitalization and continued growth of Erie’s downtown area. The partnership began Downtown Fall Fest with the hopes of encouraging community engagement and togetherness.
Mulnah Dovat, Erie Downtown Partnership’s marketing and services coordinator, said, “People sometimes have barriers to accessing classic fall activities, whether or not you celebrate Halloween. It’s great to have an opportunity to do pumpkin painting, costumes, trick or treating, whether the barrier is transportation or financial. Or to just get as much Halloween as you can out of a season.”

One of the most popular attractions was the Tree Family Party Piggies, who are not only therapy pigs but also entertainers. They performed tricks for the crowd and even did a live painting.
Abby Doyle, their handler, said, “We have Cedar and Birch. We were hired today to come spread some joy, get some piggy kisses, and let a bunch of kids interact. It’s super fun.”
Another big attraction was trunk or treat, which brought out owners of collectible cars to give out candy to trick or treaters.
One owner who purchased his car as a retirement gift to himself told us that he enjoys bringing his 2016 Dodge Charger out each year to share the happiness it brings with the community.

“It keeps everybody busy and gets the kids out for a good day and really enjoy as a family,” Kevin Whaley said.
Both organizers and attendees said that the beautiful weather made the festival even more enjoyable.
