On Nov. 4, vote “yes” to retain Pennsylvania Supreme Court justices Christine Donohue, Kevin Dougherty and David Wecht.
And here are three reasons why: 1. Jeff Yass. 2. Jeff Yass. 3. Jeff Yass.
This multibillionaire, who seeks to erode public education through a broad expansion of school choice, has funded several political action committees that are seeking to have the three aforementioned justices lose their retention votes. He is doing this, in my view, to promote a MAGA agenda in Pennsylvania.
Keep in mind that judicial independence is vitally crucial for the healthy functioning of our democracy. It is a coequal branch of government that is to be above the muck of party politics and instead acts as an arbiter of civil conflicts and legal disputes.
Vote “yes” to retain these justices. Your civil liberties and individual rights are at issue.
And by voting “yes” you are sending a message to Yass that he’s wasting his money — many millions and millions of it.
