A Taylor man struck his adult daughter in the face and pushed her to the ground while she was holding his 22-month-old granddaughter, according to a criminal complaint.
William Posdon, 50, of 207 N. Main St., faces charges of assault, harassment and endangering another person.
According to the criminal complaint, at about 3 a.m. on Friday morning, police were called to the address for the report of a domestic incident.
When officers arrived, they spoke with Eashwar Chaitram, who said he had been staying at the residence with his girlfriend, Kori Posdon, who is William Posdon’s daughter.
Chaitram said he had been in the kitchen putting something in the refrigerator when he heard William Posdon coming down the stairs.
Chaitram told officers he went into the bathroom to avoid Posdon because the two didn’t get along.
When Chaitram came out of the bathroom, Posdon grabbed and punched him before dragging him outside, according to the complaint.
When Kori Posdon came to help Chaitram, William Posdon threw her to the ground while she was holding her 22-month-old daughter.
Kori Posdon told officers Chaitram had been texting her because he was afraid to leave the bathroom. When she went downstairs she saw William Posdon attacking Chaitram and dragging him out the back door, according to the complaint. She tried to get between the two when her father hit her.
Officers noted that her mouth was bleeding and she had scratches on her legs from having been thrown to the ground.
William Posdon told officers that his daughter and Chaitram had moved in about two days prior and had been causing problems.
He said he had grabbed Chaitram’s shirt and when Kori Posdon came downstairs and saw it, she kicked him in the groin several times.
Posdon told officers she fell as she was trying to kick him.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on April 20 before District Judge Paul Keeler.
