HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — Lawmakers and Jewish leaders warned that the seeds of antisemitism and hate that allowed the rise of the Nazis have not been eradicated during a remembrance event on Monday.

“History has taught us that good people can become complacent, complicit in unspeakable atrocities through their collective silence. We must reject the wholesale degradation of any group of people by our leaders. If we do not, to paraphrase the words of German Lutheran Pastor Martin Niemöller, when they come for you, there will be no one left to speak out,” said Jonathan Scott Goldman with the Pennsylvania Jewish Coalition.
