A Jenkins Twp. man is jailed without bail after allegedly pointing an assault rifle at his wife during an argument that broke out at their home on Saturday night.
Michael Sekusky, 40, of 520 Charles Place, is accused of aiming the loaded rifle and threatening his wife in front of her 8-year-old daughter.
According to the complaint, Sekusky and his wife, Amanda Sekusky, got into an argument following a party on Saturday night. Amanda Sekusky’s daughter told her that Michael Sekusky had a gun, and she turned around to see him aiming a Smith & Wesson M&P15 at her, according to the charges.
“This is it,” the complaint quotes Michael Sekusky as saying.
The child kicked Michael Sekusky, causing him to stumble, at which point Amanda Sekusky took her daughter and barricaded themselves in a bedroom closet, police said.
Officers arriving on scene found Michael Sekusky sitting on the front porch holding a 9mm pistol. He dropped the weapon when directed and was arrested without incident, police said.
The rifle and the pistol were both fully loaded, according to the complaint.
Police charged Sekusky with aggravated assault, simple assault, making terroristic threats and reckless endangerment.
Magisterial District Judge Rick Cronauer arraigned Sekusky on the charges and denied bail, deeming him a threat to the community.
Sekusky was being held at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility with a preliminary hearing scheduled for Nov. 4.
