Near-Record Warmth Wednesday With Few Evening Storms Possible In South-Central Pennsylvania
More heat is on the way this week as highs soar to the 80s and rival records.
TRADE TWO WHEELS FOR THREE TO ALLOW FOR MORE STABILITY AND BALANCE. TELL YOU WHAT, MOST OF THIS WEEK IS GOING TO BE GREAT. MOTORCYCLING WEATHER. JUST WATCH OUT TONIGHT. THERE ARE SOME SHOWERS. MAYBE NOT TONIGHT, BUT GOING INTO THE WEEK, MAYBE THERE WILL BE OPPORTUNITY TO GET OUT ON THE BIKE. RIGHT MIKE? YEAH. I THINK TOMORROW WILL BE A GREAT DAY TO DO SO. AGAIN, JUST MAKE SURE YOU’RE BEING SAFE OUT THERE. BUT RIGHT NOW YOU DEFINITELY IN LANCASTER AND YORK COUNTY, YOU HAVE TO WATCH OUT FOR THOSE SHOWERS AND EVEN SOME THUNDERSTORMS. NOW IT DOES LOOK LIKE THE LIGHTNING AT LEAST IS STARTING TO WIND DOWN WITH THIS AS IT MOVES THROUGH PARTS OF SOUTHERN LANCASTER AND YORK COUNTY. BUT AS WE END UP GOING INTO THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS, I WOULD NOT BE SURPRISED IF WE SEE SOME OF THAT HEAVY RAIN NOW IN LANCASTER CITY ITSELF. QUARRYVILLE, HOLTWOOD, SHREWSBURY AND THE DELTA AREA CONTINUE TO OVER THE NEXT HOUR OR SO. AS WE ZOOM ON OUT, WE CAN SEE THAT WE GET A LITTLE BIT OF A BREAK. THERE’S ANOTHER CLUSTER OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OUT IN OHIO, BUT BY THE TIME THAT REACHES US OVERNIGHT TONIGHT, IT DOES LOOK LIKE THAT LINE WILL WEAKEN. SO FAR, SOME OF THE RAINFALL REPORTS FROM THE EVENING RAIN. HERE YOU CAN SEE NEW FRANKLIN AND FRANKLIN COUNTY ACTUALLY PICKED UP OVER A HALF AN INCH OF RAIN. THAT’S WHERE WE SAW SOME OF THE STORMS KIND OF HANG OUT A LITTLE BIT LONGER. SAME THING IN GETTYSBURG AND THEN THOMASVILLE, YORK COUNTY AT THE AIRPORT. YOU GOT AROUND 3000/400 OF AN INCH THERE. AND THEN PERRYVILLE IN LANCASTER COUNTY, WHERE IT’S STILL RAINING. BUT SO FAR YOU PICKED UP AROUND SEVEN HUNDREDTHS OF AN INCH. TOMORROW YOU HAVE A GOOD CHANCE AT TYING OR GETTING VERY CLOSE TO THAT RECORD HIGH. WITH A HIGH FORECAST OF 86. WE NEED TO GET TO 87. THAT’S THE RECORD FROM 1941. WE EXPECT 86 AGAIN ON THURSDAY, BUT THAT RECORD IS 89. SO IT’S GOING TO BE A LITTLE BIT MORE DIFFICULT TO DO. SO LOOKING OUTSIDE LANCASTER RIGHT NOW, RAIN STILL COMING DOWN HERE ON THE SKY CAM AND TEMPERATURES ARE RESPONDING IN KIND WHERE THE RAIN IS ALREADY FALLING AND HAS ENDED. WE’RE IN THE 60S, STILL IN THE 70S IN LEBANON AND LANCASTER, SO WE’RE COOLING THINGS DOWN, BUT IT’S STILL RAINING. SO THAT COOLER AIR STILL HAS SOME WORK TO DO. BUT AS WE GO THROUGH THE NIGHT TONIGHT, OUR TEMPERATURES DROP BACK TO AROUND 62 DEGREES. THAT WOULD ACTUALLY BE A RECORD WARM NIGHT. IF IT ENDS UP BEING AROUND 62 FOR TOMORROW MORNING AS WE HEAD INTO THE DAY TOMORROW MORNING. PARTLY SUNNY, VERY WARM START. YOU’RE IN THE 70S. BY THE TIME YOU’RE HEADING OFF TO WORK AND SCHOOL. AND THEN IN THE AFTERNOON, 86 DEGREES AND IT’S GOING TO BE A LITTLE HUMID OUT THERE, YOU WILL FEEL THAT HUMIDITY A LITTLE BIT, ESPECIALLY FOR OUR APRIL STANDARDS. SO HERE’S A LOOK AT THE TIMING. LIKE I SAID, THAT LINE THAT YOU SAW OUT IN OHIO THAT STARTS TO WEAKEN AS IT MOVES INTO PENNSYLVANIA. BY THE TIME IT GETS HERE, I THINK IT’S KIND OF DISSIPATED COMPLETELY AS WE HEAD INTO WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON, WE WILL SEE SOME SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TRY TO DEVELOP ONCE AGAIN IN THE EVENING HOURS, THIS TIME, MAYBE A BIT LATER THOUGH MORE TOWARDS SEVEN, EIGHT, 9:00 TOMORROW EVENING WHERE WE COULD SEE A FEW SHOWERS, MAYBE EVEN SOME THUNDERSTORMS THERE AS WELL, ESPECIALLY NORTH OF THE PENNSYLVANIA TURNPIKE AND MAYBE A COUPLE ROUNDS WITH THAT AS WELL. AT AROUND 8:00. AND THEN ANOTHER ONE POTENTIALLY AROUND MIDNIGHT. BUT WE DO NEED TO WATCH FOR MAYBE SOME GUSTY WINDS WITH THOSE STORMS. HERE’S FROM THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER. THE BEST CHANCE FOR A STRONG STORM IS GOING TO BE MIFFLIN AND JUNIATA COUNTY, WHERE THAT THREAT IS A LITTLE BIT HIGHER. YOU HAVE A LITTLE BIT MORE OF THE INGREDIENTS YOU NEED FOR THOSE STORMS. BUT NOTICE AS YOU HEAD TOWARDS HARRISBURG, YORK, LANCASTER, GETTYSBURG, THE THREAT DIMINISHES. SO AGAIN, THE THREAT FOR STRONG STORMS IS A LITTLE BIT GREATER. THE FARTHER NORTH AND WEST THAT YOU GO. ON THE DAY TOMORROW BETWEEN 5:00 AND 11:00 IN THE EVENING. AS WE LOOK AT YOUR TEN DAY FORECAST, WE STAY IN THE 80S, THURSDAY, FRIDAY AND SATURDAY, POTENTIALLY THE FIRST TIME FOR SIX DAYS STRAIGHT SINCE 1976. WE GET BACK INTO THE 60S ON SUNDAY WITH SOME RAIN. THAT WILL BE OUR BES
