Jose Rojas’ two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning broke a tie score and propelled the Syracuse Mets to an 8-6 victory over the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on Tuesday at NBT Bank Stadium.

Nick Morabito gave Syracuse a 1-0 lead with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first, but Spencer Jones stole home in the top of the second to knot the score at 1.

Hayden Senger and MJ Melendez hit back-to-back home runs in the bottom of the second to give Syracuse (8-8) a 4-1 advantage.

Senger added another two-run homer in the bottom of the fourth for a 6-1 lead, but the RailRiders rallied in the top of the fifth.

Ernesto Martinez hit a two-run homer, Payton Henry hit a solo homer, Max Schuemann hit an RBI single and Spencer Jones tied the game at 6 with an RBI double.

However, Rojas ended the comeback with a two-run homer that scored Christian Arroyo.

Jasson Dominguez went 1 for 3 with a double and a run, and Oswaldo Cabrera went 1 for 5 for the RailRiders (9-7).

The series continues Wednesday at 6:35 p.m. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre’s Elmer Rodriguez (0-1, 1.80 ERA) and Syracuse’s Christian Scott (0-1, 6.48 ERA) are the probable pitchers.
