A bystander helped save a man who had fallen into the Allegheny River early Wednesday morning.First responders were called to the incident on the North Shore River Walk in the area of the Police Memorial around 2:45 a.m.According to Pittsburgh Public Safety, a man fell into the river and began screaming for help.The bystander heard the screaming and was able to find the man, call 911, and hold onto his arm until first responders arrived.Officials say once help arrived, the bystander and District Chief 503 were able to pull the man up from the water and drag him onto the River Walk. The man was taken to a hospital and is being treated for hypothermia.
