READING, Pa. – An exciting pop-up consignment shop in Reading is giving women the chance to give back, make some cash, and upgrade their wardrobe — all in one.
Are you on the hunt for your next standout outfit, without the designer price tag? Or maybe your closet is overflowing, and it’s time to clear some space.
This weekend in Reading, an upscale women’s consignment pop-up shop is helping you do both.
“As you can see, prices are like $60, dresses that retail for over $200, shorts for $15. These shorts are probably $60,” said Shannon Cunningham, owner of Beauty on a Budget.
From everyday staples to designer brands, shoppers can score big deals, while local women cash in on clothes they no longer wear.
“This is all local women in the community that are making money on their clothing that they’re selling,” Cunningham said.
Inside Beauty on a Budget, which is taking place at Kraras Hall at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, it’s more than just shopping — it’s an experience.
“It’s all women. We have a lot of fun here. It’s like a girls’ day.” Cunningham said. “We have a lot of like Kate Spade, Lululemon, Tory Burch, all those kinds of things, as well as regular items that you can get fill your closet for really cheap.”
Throughout the weekend they’re expecting close to 1,000 people come through and check out these deals.
“It’s really spread like wildfire. I started this back in 2020,” Cunningham said.
Shoppers can even snag deeper discounts as the weekend goes on.
“This is Target, but it’s $8, and then on half-off day, this will go down to $4.” Cunningham said.
And anything left behind goes right back into the community.
“It’s kind of a win-win for everybody. We help local nonprofits. We help women sell items and make money, and then we help the community come in and buy a lot of items for really cheap to fill their closet,” Cunningham said.
The shop has sales in Reading, Lancaster, Philly, and soon, the Lehigh Valley.
