A significant police presence could be seen along Old York Road in Philadelphia’s West Oak Lane section on Wednesday, officials said, after a man barricaded himself inside a home.
According to police, in an afternoon update, a barricade was declared at about 10:19 a.m. after a man confined himself inside a property along the 7000 block of Old York Road.
However, police did not say if the man was sought for any crimes, nor did they say if he was armed in any way.
“While the individual’s motives remain unclear, it is not yet confirmed whether the male has any weapons,” police said in a statement on the incident.
As seen at about 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, police vehicles had closed the roadway on that block, while officers gathered in the middle of the roadway.
Also, a large, black SWAT vehicle could be seen parked along the sidewalk as officers trained their guns towards a property on the block.
At about 1:49 p.m., police announced the man involved in this barricade situation had been apprehended.
Officials have not said if he will be charged in this incident.
Though, police did note that no one was harmed during the course of this situation.
