SOUTHPORT, N.Y. (WETM) – A Millerton man has been arrested as a fugitive from justice out of Potter County, Pennsylvania, after being arrested in Southport on Saturday.

Joel D. Uhler, 58, was arrested as a fugitive from justice out of Potter County for the charge of failure to appear on an original charge of bad checks, according to a release from the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office.

On Saturday, April 11, officials say that Uhler’s vehicle was stopped on Clemens Center Parkway in Southport. During the traffic stop, officials say Uhler was found to be wanted as a fugitive from justice out of Pennsylvania.

The report continues stating that Uhler was held on the warrant for his arrest and was then processed as a fugitive from justice. He was processed by the town of Southport Court, sent to the Chemung County Jail and is waiting to be taken to Pennsylvania.
