A report of a shooting at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital late Friday was a man who walked in reporting he had been shot in Delaware earlier in the day.

About 11:25 p.m., Yeadon police responded to the hospital’s Emergency Department for the report of a subject shot.

Police Chief Henry Giammarco Jr. said the Upper Darby resident told police he had been at a motorcycle meet-up somewhere in the state of Delaware — the victim wasn’t sure the location — when he was shot in a pinkie finger.

He left the motorcycle in Delaware and returned home in a vehicle, and his mother took him to Mercy Fitzgerald.

Delaware police were alerted but the victim was somewhat uncooperative, Giammarco said.
