For the fourth time in six games, the Marywood University baseball team won by shutout, 10-0, over Drew University in a nonconference game Wednesday in Scranton.

Eight pitchers combined on the shutout for the Pacers (20-10), who reached 20 wins for the fifth time in program history.

Mike Biskup had three hits, including a double, for Marywood. A.J. Kuzior had a two-run home run in the first inning and a two-run double in the fourth. Evan Bruder added two hits and three RBIs.

Lackawanna 8, Monroe 3: At New Rochelle, N.Y., Hunter Austra had two hits and two RBIs to help lead Lackawanna College to a nonregion win over Monroe University.

Jake Virbitsky also had two hits for the Falcons (16-19-1), who took control early with a four-run second inning. Danny Stickney contributed two RBIs.

Misericordia 21, Scranton 14: At Dallas, Misericordia University used a six-run second inning and a seven-run third to outslug the University of Scranton in a nonconference game at Tambur Field. The teams combined for 35 runs and 43 hits.

Jack Portman has three hits and two RBIs for Scranton. Conor Campbell also had three hits. Brayden Keller added two hits and three RBIs. John Heitzman had two hits, including a solo home run. Jared Cassella, Jimmy Lundari, James Nitti chipped in two hits apiece and T.J. Di Mattia contributed two RBIs for the Royals (22-10).

Softball

At Scranton, two runs in the bottom of the fifth broke a tie and enabled the University of Scranton to take the first game of a Landmark Conference doubleheader from Moravian University, 5-4, at Magis Field.

Moravian won the second game, 10-2, to gain a split.

With the score tied at 3, Gianna Muliero had a RBI single and Emmie Feltenberger a run-scoring groundout to give the Royals the win. Muliero had two hits and Daniela Brescia cracked a two-run double.

In the second game, Moravian scored seven runs in its final three at-bats to pull away to the victory. Muliero  had two hits and one RBI for Scranton (17-12 overall, 5-7 league).

Marywood 8, Misericordia 1; Misericordia 11, Marywood 2 (5 inn.): At Dallas, Marywood University scored four times in the top of the first inning to take the first game of a nonconference doubleheader.

Renee McDonald had three hits and one RBI in the opener for Marywood. Tori Para added two hits and two RBIs. Marley Sarafinko chipped in two hits and Marissa Hoffman drove in three runs.

Misericordia scored five runs in the first inning of the second game to win and earn a split. Lauryn Notari had a RBI single for the Pacers (15-11).

Men’s lacrosse

At Edwardsville, the University of Scranton scored at least 30 goals for the second time this season as the Royals routed Wilkes University, 30-6, in a Landmark Conference game at Schmidt Stadium.

Kyle Holmes had five goals and two assists for Scranton (9-6, 7-0), which jumped out to an 11-1 lead in the first quarter. Quinn Carson added four goals and two assists. Fourteen players scored for the Royals.

Women’s lacrosse

At Scranton, the University of Scranton scored the first 14 goals on its way to a 23-2 romp of Wilkes University in a Landmark Conference game at Weiss Field.

Fifteen players scored goals for the Royals (11-4, 7-0), led by Eileen Hewitt with three. Alexandra Beck, Delaney Wozniak, Colleen Mullin, Jillian Lopez, Grace DiDominica and Allyson Flynn each added two goals.

Women’s tennis

At Scranton, the University of Scranton beat Moravian University, 5-2, in a Landmark Conference match at Royal Courts.

Sarah Crawford, Gisele Falzone, Kyleigh McNulty and Nora Pencek each had singles and doubles wins for the Royals (10-2, 6-0).
