The president of Reading Area Community College has been honored with a national award.
Dr. Susan Looney has been recognized as the American Association of Community Colleges CEO of the Year. The award was announced Tuesday during the association’s annual convention in Seattle.
The association is the primary advocacy organization for community colleges across the nation. It represents 1,200 two-year, associate degree-granting institutions that serve more than 12 million students.
Looney was honored for her exceptional leadership and profound impact on expanding educational opportunities at RACC and throughout the community.
Looney expressed gratitude for the recognition.
“I am deeply honored to be selected as the AACC CEO of the Year,” she said in a statement announcing the award. “This recognition is incredibly meaningful to me, but it truly belongs to the entire RACC community. I am privileged to do this work alongside the most dedicated and talented faculty and staff I have ever known.”
