ROBESON TWP., Pa. – Part of Route 724 in Berks County will be closing next week.

PennDOT says work will start Monday to replace the Route 724 bridge over Allegheny Creek in Robeson Township.

A detour will be in place to guide drivers around the closure, which is between Route 568 and Annon Street.

The bridge was built in 1956.

It’s going to be replaced by a single span pre-stressed concrete beam bridge.

Work is expected to be done by October.
