EASTON, Pa. – It has been about two months since Wilson Firefighter Bobby Lewullis was injured while battling a fire at the Hampton Hotel in Easton.

He was trapped in the building and was able to self-rescue and fell off a ladder about 20 feet, ultimately spending days in the hospital.

“My shoulder is getting better. I have full rotation in it. My boot should be coming off on Monday, so really it’s just my back to recover now,” said Lewullis.

Lewullis said he has at least 16 weeks of physical therapy left. He said he has 10 more weeks in a back brace.

The community is rallying together for a fundraiser at Owowcow in Easton.

Owowcow is donating 20 percent of its sales from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. Saturday night to support Lewullis by mentioning his name Bobby at the register.

“It is amazing and overwhelming at the same time. The support we’ve gotten from Owowcow, from Pints and Pies, from the entire Lehigh Valley,” said Lewullis.

He said people he does not even know and others he has not seen since high school have been rallying behind him, offering any help he needs.

“My Chief calls me once a week, a couple of guys came to the hospital and same thing. Text me; they come over, stop by. People have dropped off food baskets and cook dinners for us. It’s amazing,” said Lewullis. “Thank you to everyone. Thank you to the doctors at St. Luke’s, thank you to my family for taking care of me, my beautiful fiancĂ©, my mom, my daughter. Thank you,” said Lewullis.
