Programs about Alzheimer’s disease and the Constitution are scheduled at the Wyomissing Public Library.

Jennifer Youndt of the Penn State Extension Service will present a program Nov. 1 at 2 p.m. about Alzheimer’s, and how people can take steps individually to defer, and perhaps totally avoid, the most common form of dementia.

November is Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month. Nationally, an estimated 14 million Americans are projected to have Alzheimer’s by 2025. Early detection and intervention strategies are crucial for managing the disease effectively.

Attorney Donald F. Smith Jr. will lead a program Nov. 3 at 6 p.m. on the meaning of the phrase “due process” in the Fifth and 14th  amendments of the Constitution. Smith, former director of the Berks County Bar Association, will examine the two concepts embodied in this vague phrase, resulting in it being the most litigated provision in the Constitution.

The library is at 9 Reading Blvd. The programs are free and registration is requested at wyopublib.org or at 610-374-2385.
