BOYERTOWN, Pa. – An elementary school in Berks County is closed Monday after crews battled a fire in a classroom.
It started around 1:40 a.m. at Boyertown Elementary School Monday.
Fire officials tell 69 News that it happened inside a classroom.
They say a heating unit was on fire, and the blaze spread to books and a bulletin board.
No one was hurt in the fire.
Students and staff will follow a Flexible Instructional Day schedule, the district said in a Facebook post.
The district says students should complete activities on their FID choice boards.
All other district buildings will operate on a normal, in-person schedule, according to the district.
