Young Erie residents give care packages to the homeless for Day of Caring event

Youth in the community came out for a giveback event called the Day of Caring.

The Youth Leadership Institute of Erie took to Perry Square to support the homeless with care packages.

The organization provided goodie bags, clothes, canned goods, food and drinks, all in an effort to help our community and get the youth involved.

“Getting the youth involved is so important because again we’re going to be passing the torch onto them, so them being involved and knowing how to tackle the issues in the community is very important,” said Azana Williams, the youth engagment coordinator for the Youth Leadership Institute of Erie.

On April 25, the Youth Leadership Institute of Erie will hold a Presque Isle clean-up in support of global Youth Service Day.
