Nancy Condee, director of Pitt’s Center for Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies, and a, a Vivian Hui, who received her PhD from Pitt’s School of Nursing in 2022, were honored with the 2026 Sheth International Achievement Awards at a ceremony on April 14.

Condee, who also is a professor of Slavic languages and literatures, received the Sheth Distinguished Faculty Award for International Achievement.

Hui, who has been a pioneers in large language models for nursing, was honored with the Sheth International Young Alumni Achievement Award. She also is an assistant professor at the School of Nursing at Hong Kong Polytechnic University and an adjunct assistant professor at Pitt’s School of Nursing.

The two Sheth awards were started by Jagdish N. Sheth, an expert in the field of marketing known globally for his scholarly contributions in consumer behavior, relationship marketing, competitive strategy and geopolitical analysis. He is the Charles H. Kellstadt chair of marketing in the Goizueta Business School at Emory University.

This is the 13th year for the awards, which are administered by the University Center for International Studies.

In the spirit of the Sheth Awards, during the ceremony current students receiving prestigious national and university awards to advance their understanding of the world and world languages also were recognized.
